Whitley Bay High School girls into National Netball Finals

Whitley Bay High School's U16 netball team has qualified for the National Netball Finals in Brighton.

The team beat off tough opposition in the regional finals at Sports Central, Northumbria University.

They beat Newcastle High School for Girls, Durham High School, Ponteland High School, King Edward VI School, Morpeth, Polam Hall School and Bishop Barrington School.

Team coach Kate Kennedy said: “I am so proud of all the girls involved in this success.

“It is a great achievement”.

Headteacher Steve Wilson said: “The girls played really well and thoroughly deserve this place in the national finals.

“Well done to them and the coach, Kate Kennedy.”

The finals will take place on Saturday, March 19.
