Wheely good fun to be had at the railway

Visitors will never tyre of the entertainment at an Alnwick attraction.

Aln Valley Railway, at Alnwick’s Lionheart station, will be holding a Wheels Weekend on Saturday, August 13 and Sunday, August 14.

During this weekend the owners of interesting or unusual machines will have the opportunity of displaying them against the background of the railway.

Whether big or small, old, new or ageless, any machine will be welcome, provided that it runs on, or is driven by, wheels.

The power sources could be steam, petrol or diesel, electricity or human, or animal power.

In addition to the Wheels exhibits, trains will be giving rides, hauled by the railway’s team locomotive RICHBORO.

The Buffet Stop Café will be open for the sale of refreshments and the railway’s shop, museum, bric-a- brac stall and model railway room will be open to visitors.
