A wheely good effort

An Alnwick company has won a competition after being the top regional seller of tyres produced by a leading manufacturer.

SMJ Tyre Services, based at the town’s Lionheart Enterprise Park, managed to sell the highest amount of Lassa Tyres during November and December last year.

The firm sold around 250 to beat off competition from participating businesses, from as far as Scotland in the north and Yorkshire in the south.

In recognition, SMJ was presented with a special FC Barcelona shirt last Friday. Lassa is the main sponsor of FC Barcelona’s professional sports sections and is an official partner of the club in relation to football.

SMJ manager Shaun Jackson said he was delighted to come out on top. The Alnwick company has been in operation for nearly nine years.

Lassa Tyres manufactures and sells a wide range of consumer and commercial tyres.
