What will Northumberland wake up to?

Showers are unlikely in the morning and no heavy rain is forecast – phew. It will be a mainly bright start with plenty of sunshine and some cloud. The cloud will thicken later and continue that way throughout the day. A maximum temperature of 19 °C should be expected.

The sunniest part of the day could be between 11am and 12pm noon when the sky is set to be at its clearest.

Will rain arrive at all today?

There is a 40% chance of rain predicted in the very late evening at around 11pm which is set to continue into the early hours.

Any outbreaks of rain will clear throughout the night leaving most parts of the town feeling dry by the morning of Thursday, August 22.

Expect a slightly warmer day with a minimum temperature of 13 °C.

What is the weather for the rest of the week?

The weather is predicted to stay mostly dry with some sunny spells later in the week as we pass hump day on Wednesday, August 21.

It will still feel warm as we approach the Bank Holiday weekend, although an onshore breeze will keep coastal areas cooler throughout with spells of sunshine.
