Northumberland weather forecast: When to expect the sun to shine this Sunday
It’s been a wet and windy week – but Sunday is expected to bring some sunshine on the North East.
After a night of showers and cloud cover, the Met Office has forecast suggests the brisk winds will have eased over night, even if the temperature lingers at around 2C.
This is what we can expect from today’s weather.
How will the day start off?
Rain and hill snow is expected to clear during the morning and it will be cloudy up until around midmorning, with a temperature of 5C.
Sunrise is due at around 7.15am.
Sunny intervals are expected until around 11am.
How will it brighten up from then?
The Met Office's experts suggest we can expect plenty of sunshine up until around 5pm, even if the temperature will only rise until around 6C.
However, it still says there may be isolated showers but most places should stay dry.
What will the evening bring?
It says it will become frosty overnight, with sunset at around 5.30pm and a slight drop in temperature to around 3C.
What will the weather have in store for us as the new week begins?
The outlook for Monday is for heavy rain, hill snow and strong winds.
On Tuesday and Wednesday we will see sunny spells and scattered blustery showers, sometimes wintry, especially over hills.
Beyond that, more unsettled weather is on the way, with often windy conditions expected to continue with areas of rain moving east across the UK, interspersed with brighter, showery periods.
