The weather in Northumberland on Christmas Day is set to see long spells of sunshine with mild temperatures.

What will the weather be like in Northumberland this morning?

There will be a cold but fine start to Christmas morning at a chilly 3C, but winds blowing in from the west at around 9mph which may make it feel colder.

The afternoon is likely to see some long sunny spells and the temperature will reach it’s peak at 5C – the sun is predicted to shine for several hours, and will then clear around 4pm.

What will the weather be like this evening and tonight in Northumberland?

Early evening will see the day turn misty with fog forming in the valleys, and this will continue overnight and temperatures will drop to a cold 1C.

What will the weather be like tomorrow?

Boxing Day will see a 60% chance of rain by 12pm which will continue into early evening and temperatures will be quite mild at 5C.

What is the long-term forecast for the North East?

The Met Office UK outlook for Sunday, December 28 and Monday, January 6 said: “There is considerable uncertainty by the latter part of this week.

“Over the weekend, northwestern areas are likely to see mild, unsettled and windy conditions, with some heavy rain possible at times.

“Looking further ahead, it may become more widely unsettled across the UK through early January, especially in the north and west, with gales at times and temperatures still varying around or above average.”
