Northumberland weather forecast as county set for mini heatwave ahead of Easter weekend

Today and tomorrow, Tuesday and Wednesday, March 30 and 31, are the pick of the bunch, with sunshine and temperatures of up to 15C before Thursday turns cooler.

The Met Office forecast for the North East says today will be sunny and warm but tonight will turn chilly with a minimum of 4C.

Tomorrow will be fine before perhaps becoming cloudier in the north, with a little drizzle by evening and a maximum of 18C.

Thursday is likely to be cooler but mostly dry, with some sunny spells and a risk of frost overnight.

Chief Meteorologist Steve Ramsdale said: “Conditions will start to change through the day on Thursday as cooler air moves in from the north east, highs will fall by Friday, especially along the east coast. However, conditions are expected to remain dry for the majority.”
