A yellow weather warning has been issued in the North East this week.

While the adverse conditions are set to impact Northumberland, other areas of the North East such as South Tyneside, Sunderland and Hartlepool are less likely to be affected.

Met Office forecasters say that bus and train services are likely to be affected, with journey times taking longer. Potential spray and flooding on roads could also impact travel.

Interruption to power supplies and other services are likely, as is flooding of a few homes and businesses.
