Hide AdIt says Bamburgh in Northumberland can expect to sea waves just short of 12ft in the coming days, with the forecast into Monday, February 8, suggesting they will be around 11ft to 10ft as the week goes on.
Tweets shared by Seahouses Lifeboat team show the conditions are already rough in the North Sea, with its volunteers urging people to say away from the water’s edge.
In South Shields, Magic Seaweed expects waves to hit between 11.5ft and 14ft between today and Sunday, February 7, but could reach up to 16ft the next day.

Hide AdSunderland’s seafront won’t see such spectacular displays, but will still see 9ft waves in coming days.
Meanwhile, the site predicts Steetley Beach in Hartlepool will see waves of around 9ft between now and the start of the new week.

Hide AdWeather alerts are in place up until then, with a yellow level warning in place for rain until Saturday at noon.
A yellow snow and ice warning then runs from 3pm on Saturday until 11pm on Monday, also covering the whole region.
That alert warns: “Cold air will spread across the UK during the weekend with wintry showers likely to push inland into parts of England from the North Sea.

"At this stage no single area can be highlighted as more at risk but given the coldness of the air disruption is possible at times.”
