Met Office forecasters are predicting that temperatures will soar to 23°C on Sunday, June 13 making it the hottest day of the year.

Northumberland looks set for long, bright sunny spells across the county, with some cloud throughout the day and plenty of sun into the early evening.

Forecasters expect temperatures to average at 22°C with a daily high of 23°C . Everywhere will feel warmer than Saturday according to the Met Office.

The regional weather report for the North East said: “Although there will be some cloud at times there will also be long bright or sunny spells. Everywhere will feel warmer than Saturday, with many places becoming very warm. Maximum temperature 26°C.”
