High winds set to last through the weekend in Northumberland
Northumberland is in line for a blustery weekend with the high winds of recent days set to hang around.
The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for wind covering yesterday and today, Thursday, March 11, earlier in the week and although that has now been withdrawn, winds are still high.
High winds are forecast for later today, with gusts as fast at 37mph – force seven on the Beaufort Scale – this evening.
And the windy weather shows little inclination to let up much over the weekend.
