A flood warning has been put in force by the Environment Agency for the Tyne and Wear coast that flooding is expected in Berwick-Upon-Tweed, on the evening of Monday, January 13.

A Flood Warning has been issued by the Environment Agency for Berwick-Upon-Tweed and Tweedmouth and immediate action required due to the expectation of flooding.

Waves are predicted to overtop sea defences with sea spray expected at Berwick-Upon-Tweed and Tweedmouth as a result of high spring tides and strong winds.

Tides will be at their highest between 4pm and 6pm on Monday, January 13 and conditions may apply two to four hours either side of the high tide.

Properties, roads and farmlands are at risk of flooding. Areas most at risk include, The Chandlery and Marlin Buildings in Berwick, Blakewell Road and West End in Tweedmouth, The Waterfront at Sandstell Road in Spittal, and Berwick Dock.
