Cool temperatures and patches of rain – what to expect from Northumberland’s weather this weekend

Cool temperatures, cloudy spells and heavy rain are what Met Office forecasters are predicting for the county over the coming weekend.

Friday and Saturday look to be very wet and cold before the weather dries up slightly as we head into Sunday.

A very damp start to the end of the week as dark cloud and heavy rain showers are forecast throughout the day.

According to the Met Office website, Friday will be “breezy and feel chilly, especially along the coast”.

Temperatures are not expected to reach any higher than 6°C so make sure to wrap up warm if you are heading outside.

The rain is expected to continue heading into Saturday morning and is predicted to last until around mid-afternoon.

Showers could be occasionally heavy with some cloud patches throughout the day.

Much like Friday, temperatures are expected to remain at around 6°C but the wind could make it feel cooler.

However, by mid-afternoon and as we head into Sunday evening, the rain showers are predicted to resume before easing off again in the early hours of Monday morning.

The weather will remain overcast, with temperatures looking to be sat at around 7°C.
