Following a week where temperatures in Northumberland were hotter than the likes of Barcelona, the sunshine will continue into March with a bright and sunny start to the week.

A morning of sun is forecast for the county on Monday, March 1 with more sunshine and some clouds into the afternoon.

But it won’t be as warm as the previous week, with highs of just 8C before turning cool overnight with temperatures of 3C.

Monday looks to be the best day of the week, with Tuesday, March 2 set to be overcast with some mist in the evening and highs of 5C.

Wednesday looks much the same, with highs of 5C in the afternoon, dropping to 3C overnight.

Those looking to enjoy their daily exercise on Thursday, March 4 should prepare for rain as the Met Office is forecasting light rain showers the afternoon, remaining cloudy for the rest of the day.

Temperatures will remain around 6C.

It will be a dry day on Friday, March 5 but remaining overcast and cold with highs of just 5C.

Sadly, the sun shows no signs of making a weekend appearance with a cloudy day forecast for Saturday March 6.

Make sure to wrap up warm if you do venture out as temperatures look set to remain around 6C during the day before falling to 3C overnight.
