Organisers of the Alnwick Christmas market have made the difficult decision to cancel this weekends event ‘after months of planning’ due to extreme weather warnings.

The market, which was planned for Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th of November has been cancelled due to the forecasted Storm Bert that is set to hit the UK this weekend.

High winds and rain are expected meaning organisers deemed the event unsafe. The team took to Facebook to announce the cancellation: “Due to very extreme weather at the weekend, we have made the decision to cancel the Christmas Market on Saturday and Sunday."
