A ROTHBURY band has been selected to play for the Queen during her visit next week.
The Rothbury and Highland Pipe Band, which includes musicians as young as 12, will be giving Her Majesty a taste of traditional Northumbrian music when she attends the party for carers and volunteers at the Alnwick Garden on June 22.
Drum Major and chairman David Brown said: “When we got the invitation to go it was a surprise and an honour. The band has worked very hard towards getting everything right and myself and the Pipe Major will be finalising the arrangements this weekend.
“Everybody is really looking forward to it, especially the younger members.”
