AROUND 60 people including toddlers tried to flip their way to victory during a north Northumberland village’s pancake races on Tuesday.
And there was a crowd of about 100 in Belford to watch the competitors battle the elements on a windy afternoon.
Steve Newman, who helped organise the event, said: “We started with the toddlers race – there were 10 toddlers which is more than before – which was very successful.
“It’s only the second year doing it and we were very pleased with the turnout because it was very cold and very windy. There were pancakes hurtling everywhere.
“We would like to thank David Ratclif from the Blue Bell Hotel who sponsored the event by giving us the trophies.”
