This time-lapse video shows the temporary roof being put on Lindisfarne Castle, as part of major restoration work.
The iconic Grade 1-listed building on Holy Island is closed until April 2018 for a £3million conservation project.
The extensive works will address penetrating damp issues and restore the stonework, pointing and windows.
The temporary roof has been installed to allow repairs to the castle roof.
Despite the castle closure, the Gertrude Jekyll Garden, the Lime Kilns and the shop remain open. Visit the National Trust website for more details and opening information.
