The heavens opened as hundreds of people gathered in Alnwick to pay their respects at the annual Remembrance Day service at the War Memorial.
The rain added to the sombre mood but did not appear to reduce the number of those attending.
The parade was lead by the Fusiliers band and included service personnel from all the armed forces, veterans, cadets, and representatives of organisations and children’s groups.
