Alnwick's annual Shrovetide football match may be a brutal game for the players, but today's match also proved that there is plenty of danger for reporters covering the event.

This hilarious video shows the moment that Gazette journalist James Willoughby falls onto his bottom while trying to capture the action. He was unaware of the large clump of grass that was behind him as he walked backwards while filming the start of the action-packed clash, which was won by the parish of St Paul.

It wasn’t just James who was in the thick of the action though. This video also shows freelance reporter Michael Pearson being hit by the ball while he was trying to take pictures of the game.
