A poignant balloon release to celebrate the life of Bailey Brown was staged by his family and friends this afternoon.
The special gesture took place at Alnwick Rugby Club following the 11-year-old’s funeral at the town’s St Paul’s Church this morning.
Mourners gave Bailey three cheers before releasing the balloons, of varying bright colours, into the sky.
Hundreds of tributes have poured in for Bailey since he died on Christmas Eve.
His parents urged mourners to wear bright colours to his funeral to honour the youngster’s happy personality and infectious smile.
