This video, shot by Gazette photographer Jane Coltman, features some action as filming for a major ITV drama took place on the north Northumberland coast yesterday.
The epic poem Beowulf is being made into a 13-part series and Bamburgh was among the locations chosen to represent its Scandinavian setting.
Earlier in the week, shooting for the programme took place in and around Hartburn and Scots Gap.
The series is set in the mythical Shieldlands – a place of spectacle and danger populated by humans and fantastical creatures. Kieran Bew has been cast to play the lead role of Beowulf. He will star alongside multi-award-winning actor William Hurt, who will play Hrothgar, and acclaimed actress Joanne Whalley, in the role of Rheda.
