Warning after quad bikes stolen from Northumberland farm

Police are reminding rural farm owners to be vigilant following a theft from a farm in the early hours of this morning.

Sgt Graham Vickers from Northumbria Police said: “In the early hours of this morning (Wednesday 6th May) a farm building was forcibly entered and two quad bikes stolen at Shillmoor Farm, Alwinton.

“An attempt was also made at the nearby Linbriggs Farm however no property was stolen.

“A further report was received of two males with shaven heads, in a black BMW X5 on a 55 plate, appearing suspicious in the Woodhall Farm area of Sharperton yesterday afternoon. No offences were reported and it is unknown at this stage if connected to the farm crimes.

“Whilst crime in Coquetdale has been extremely low of late, please be vigilant, keep buildings and vehicles secure with keys removed.

“Report anything suspicious immediately via the 999 emergency telephone system.”
