After helping to raise over £8,000 for research into a killer illness, a Warkworth widow is organising a coffee morning aid of the Motor Neurone Disease Association and HospiceCare North Northumberland.
Steph Wilkinson, of Watershaugh Road, whose husband, Roger, died of MND in January 2010, is staging the event on Saturday, July 14.
Steph said: “The coffee morning is in Roger’s memory. We still know so little about MND; a disease which devastates the lives of sufferers and their families and for which there is no cure or effective treatment.”
The event at Warkworth Memorial Hall, which begins at 10am, features a tombola, home-made cakes stall and raffle.
