A refuse wagon has crashed on the A697, less than a week after a lorry overturned on the same road.
The incident happened one-mile south of Powburn at 3.37pm yesterday. The vehicle came off the carriageway and rolled down an embankment. Nobody was hurt.
It comes just three days after a similar incident, when a lorry overturned near to Thrunton last Tuesday.
The Gazette understands that the wagon is scheduled to be recovered this coming Tuesday, which would mean the closure of a stretch of the A697 to allow for the removal, with diversions in place.
