Northumbria Police is looking for volunteers to take part in a special focus group for older drivers in Northumberland.
Officers from the Force’s road-safety Operation Dragoon team are wanting to organise the session.
The aim will be to discuss the issues that older drivers face, talk about general driving and road safety and get some feedback and ideas around initiatives that police can run to help mature drivers.
Although this is a one-off focus group, the long-term objective is to organise regular drop-in sessions where mature drivers can speak to police officers and partner agencies and get advice.
Around six volunteers are needed to take part in the initial focus group and anyone aged 70 and over can apply to take part.
If there is enough interest, then the event will be held at County Hall in Morpeth on a date yet to be decided.
The session will last around an hour and anyone interested in taking part can email their details to the Operation Dragoon team at
