As part of the Peregrini Lindisfarne Military Defence Project, organisers are looking for a team of volunteers to help thin the vegetation around Newtown Gun Emplacement, at Budle Bay.

This is part of a campaign to improve access and provide a 21st-century function for this historic structure.

People are invited to join the Peregrini Lindisfarne team on Tuesday, November 15, between 9.30am and 12.30pm. Tools and training will be provided, as well as tea and coffee.

Booking is essential. To find out more or to book your place, email Sarah.Winlow@northumberland.gov.uk or call 07557 326797.
