A CHARITY which cares for and rehomes big dogs has received a host of interest after an article in the Gazette.
In December, we reported that Shak, based at a farm north of Alnwick, was struggling and needed more volunteers to help walk and look after the 52 dogs it has in its care.
The charity is run mainly by volunteers and rehomes dogs on the brink of being put down.
Thanks to our story, the phone started ringing with offers of help.
Now extra volunteers are helping out at the site.
See next week’s Northumberland Now for a feature on one of Shak’s residents.
