The fund-raising team behind the beneficiary of this year’s Jam Jar Army campaign has made a call for volunteers to help out at future events.
Amble Lifeboat Fundraisers (ALF) are raising funds to bring a new Shannon-class Lifeboat to Amble.
To date, the Amble Shannon appeal has raised almost £60,000, but still has a long way to go to he £200,000 mark.
The committee is always after volunteers to help out at various events; forthcoming events include the Druridge Bay 10K run, Marks and Spencer’s and Morrisons’ bag packs, coffee mornings, social events and the largest fund-raising of the year – the annual Harbour Day on August 30.
ALF is looking for volunteers to help out in any way they can – assist at events, bake a cake, hold a car-boot sale, etc, and as such, the group is looking to recruit Friends of ALF.
The Friends may be able to help out a couple of times, knit, provide resources, bake cakes or scones, help out for a couple of hours on Harbour Day or support other events.
