VISIT: Such a warm welcome

Stopping off in Northumberland during our trips to and from Scotland has restored my faith in human nature.

I am Scottish. Where I live, most of the people keep their heads down rather than acknowledge you, and I have got used to it.

I’m glad to say that have I found that not everywhere is like that on my visit to your towns.

I thought the people of Scotland were friendly, but the people of Northumberland that I have come into contact with have always been warm, lovely and so very helpful.

A special mention to the shops in Warkworth, Alnmouth, Alnwick and The Red Lion, which I found just lovely.
