Virgin Trains on East Coast severely disrupted by Storm Doris

Virgin Trains are being disrupted on the East Coast mainline.

Virgin Trains East Coast has said its services are being severely disrupted by Storm Doris.

Trains across the whole Virgin Trains East Coast network are expected to be cancelled or delayed by up to 100 minutes.

Customers are advised not to travel today. Tickets dated for today will be accepted on tomorrow’s services.

Virgin Trains East Coast says customers affected today may be entitled to compensation. Customers are advised to keep their train tickets and make a note of their journey, as both will be required to support any claim.

Network Rail say Storm Doris is resulting in high winds and rain across various parts of Great Britain. They have imposed speed restrictions on some railway lines for safety reasons due to the high winds.
