Belford Show was a class affair on Saturday, with the quality of entries as high as ever.
William McLaren has taken on the role of show president this year following Sir John Walton’s excellent contribution over the years as president.
He paid tribute to Marjorie McDonald who died earlier this year, a mainstay of the show and of the village. The assembled crowd held a one-minute silence in her memory.
The president said he was astounded though not surprised at the quality of entries in the show and the expertise shown right through all of the sections. He was most impressed at the range of talent that Belford can boast.
He looked forward to even more entries in next year’s village show.
