Villagers put the focus on Ellingham

A bird’s eye view of Ellingham has taken top spot in a parish competition.

Ellingham Parish Council is preparing a neighbourhood plan so that residents can influence future development and indentify and conserve historic and environmental places.

The steering group organised a competition to engage residents and collect photographs for the website.

Gazette photographer Jane Coltman judged the competition and presented the prizes at the village hall.

First place went to Ian Calland, for an aerial picture taken with a drone.

Jane said: “I liked the composition and thought that the detail and colours of the trees worked well together to create a wonderful image.

“It was a pleasure to look at all the pictures submitted by the residents of Ellingham.”

In second place was a spiral staircase photographed by Diana Milburn, while third went to Jane Macleod’s picture of a bridge.
