Work to install a new safety surface at Craster playground starts next week.
The new surface will consist of matting overlaid with turf, which is different to the current black bonded surface.
Not only will the new surface meet safety standards, but it will also look more natural and better suited to the playground’s location, with it being in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The work is going ahead after Craster Community Trustees, who are responsible for the playground, applied successfully for LEADER funding.
Work starts on Monday and the playground will be closed for an expected timescale of three weeks, but this depends on the turf bedding in.
