A £3,000 grant has been awarded to Shilbottle Community Hall, after it came out on top in a public vote.
The venue bagged the cash via the Lloyds Bank Community Fund 2014, which encourages people to support one of four local good causes.
The Shilbottle Hall fended off competition from Blyth Town FC, Newsham and New Delaval Youth Forum and Mid Northumberland District Explorer Scouts to take the top money prize.
The cash will allow the hall to run the Challenge Yourself Project; a series of workshops, involving arts, crafts, drama, music, sport and life skills, such as IT classes.
Experts will be brought in to run full and half-day sessions; some aimed at specific age groups, others all-age.
It is hoped that some of the workshops will lead to new community groups being set up and residents are being invited to put forward their suggestions for activities they would like to have a go at or new groups that they would like to get involved with.
The Community Fund vote ran between September 2 and October 10.
Blyth Town scored £2,000, the Youth Forum received £1,000 and the Explorer Scouts were given £500.
