This weekend, visitors to Lindisfarne Priory will be able to relive the life and times of the Vikings.
In an event celebrating all things Norse, there will be a range of activities from gory tales to re-enactments from tomorrow until Monday.
Visitors can walk within their encampment of tents within the Priory grounds, discovering the rigours and entertainments of Viking campaigning in addition to witnessing grisly displays of combat.
Carl Hutton, events manager for English Heritage in the north, said: “This is an exciting event and one which tells the story of Lindisfarne Priory well. We have numerous activities going on and set in this stunning setting, it’s a weekend not to miss.”
English Heritage members go free. Ticket prices for non-members are £5.60 adults, £3.30 children, £14.50 family and £5 concessions.
