VIDEO: Special service and Armed Forces Day parade in Northumberland town

It has been a historic day for the Royal British Legion at St Andrew's Wallace Green Church in Berwick.

Standards from the former Berwick and Crookham branches were laid up at a drumhead service and a new standard for the North Northumberland branch was dedicated.

Following this was a parade to mark Armed Forces Day through the centre of Berwick to the Guild Hall. It was watched by hundreds of people.

In addition, an exhibition of military memorabilia – featuring sections on the Battle of the Somme, Jutland and Britain in 1916 – was on display in the town hall.
