Alnwick has a new addition to its café culture as the town’s major arts venue receives a facelift.
The refurbishment, unveiled to the public yesterday, has already received applause from an enthusiastic audience of locals and visitors.
A new café, selling quiches, baguettes, paninis, cakes and scones, from the Running Fox bakery at Felton, baked potatoes and other snacks, has replaced the former box office, which has moved along to the far end of the downstairs gallery.
Upstairs, another dining area has been created overlooking Bondgate Without and the bar area has been given a new , chic look.
In this video, Playhouse manager Jo Potts takes us on a tour of the changes.
