Victory celebration and football
These two pictures have been sent in by readers.
The top image shows a victory celebration on June 15, 1946, and was taken at Stobhill Gate. Margaret Hepple, the wife of Tony Pell who sent in the image, is on the back row wearing a cap, and children were in fancy dress for the occasion.
Roger Stephenson sent in the bottom picture of the football team at Alnwick Secondary Modern School in 1949. His dad Alan Stephenson, from Dunstan, is at the front, second right.
