Various roadworks on A1 in Northumberland

Northumberland motorists are being reminded about upcoming roadworks and those that are currently in place in the county on the A1.

As part of the works to construct the Morpeth Northern Bypass, there will be a carriageway closure southbound in the Morpeth area between Monday and Wednesday.

This will be in effect from 8pm to 6am, with a diversion in place.

The traffic signals on the road northbound and southbound near the Tritlington/Ulgham turn-off to the north of Morpeth will be in operation until Thursday, restarting again after Easter on Tuesday, March 29 until Wednesday, April 6.

At Newton on the Moor, the lane closure southbound so drainage work can be carried out will take place until Wednesday between 8am and 6pm.

A lane closure northbound and southbound for inspection work will be in position between Seaton Burn and Morpeth tomorrow from 9.30am to 3.30pm.

In addition, the daytime slip road closure northbound and southbound between 6am and 8pm – and traffic signals between 8pm and 6am – for resurfacing work at Beal in north Northumberland will take place until mid April, breaking from Thursday to Tuesday, March 29 for Easter.
