A missing Rothbury man was found safe and well last night.

Missing Rothbury man David Lowe was found safe and well last night following appeals by his family and Northumbria Police.

Earlier in the evening, posting on Facebook, his daughter Emily Grace Lowe said: 'MISSING! PLEASE HELP.

'This is my dad! David Lowe. He has been missing for 5 hours. He was last seen at Merley Croft in Morpeth. He left there at 3:30.

'He is wearing a blue and white stripy shirt, jeans, brown shoes and may be wearing a padded black Berghaus coat.

'This is very out of character for him and he hasn't contacted any family. Please share far and wide and contact myself or the police if you have any information.'

A Northumbria Police statement said: 'David Lowe, who is 51, was last seen at his place of work in Loansdean, Morpeth on Tuesday, October 4, and was reported missing at 5pm.

'David is 5ft 10ins tall, of average build and short cropped hair. He was last seen wearing a blue and white striped shirt with red cuffs, jeans and brown shoes.

'We're concerned for David's wellbeing and are appealing for David or anyone who knows where he is to contact us as soon as possible.

'Anyone who has seen him or who has any information as to his whereabouts is asked to contact police on 101, quoting 780 04/10/16.'
