With just over a week to go before Hallowe’en, the attraction has published a video on its Facebook page which shows a series of strange images suddenly appearing from inside the hornets’ nest on one of the holes, before disappearing.

A spokesman at The Garden said: “There have been some very weird happenings at the adventure golf this week. There has been a lot of speculation about what was disturbed when we began excavating the site, but these night-time CCTV images, showing unexplained movements, have got us scratching our heads.

“There has been a notable increase in comments from visitors who have recently played on the 13-hole course recently, with many commenting on sharp, sudden noises and unusual feelings of a chill in the air as they approach the final hole.

“The adventure golf course, which opened this year, was developed on a forgotten garden which has laid untouched for many years. Records don’t quite account for what the site was historically used for so it is uncertain what exactly may have been disturbed with the recent excavation work.

“A quick search of the internet suggests all manner of things from the final resting place for Sir Lancelot to the burial of a vampire in the 1200s.

“One such record that has been found in the vaults is a diary entry from 1843 referring to local butcher, Mr Milton Everett, who seemingly met his fate in or around the grounds of The Garden.”

The Garden says that it is keen to hear from anyone who has been to the golf course and heard or felt anything out of the ordinary,

The publication of the CCTV footage comes at a time when The Garden is launching its Hallowe’en events.

One of the stand-outs will be the Scare Zone, which will see the Bamboo Labyrinth being taken over by the undead. The spooky trail will open this Saturday and run until Sunday, October 29, from 6pm to 7.30pm.

Other events to take place in the run-up to Hallowe’en include the hangman’s tree and Hallowe’en snow globe. People can also play on the spookily-decorated golf course.
