A company under fire from local residents has launched a review of its operations in a bid to identify potential ways of reducing impact on the community.
Bedmax has been operating from the Greymare Farm site at Detchant for more than 13 years but members of the Residents of Detchant Association (RODA) have called for the business to be relocated to another site.
Tim Smalley, Bedmax founder and managing director, said company records show that Greymare reached production capacity in 2005 and consequently there has been no increase in HGV traffic on the U34.
“I am determined that Bedmax will address all the issues raised by RODA. The review will be exhaustive and will take several months. It involves the employment of external consultants and the engagement of key stakeholders,” he said.
