Town and parish councillors in Northumberland are up for election on Thursday alongside county councillors – but votes will only take place where there are more candidates than seats.
In many cases, there are not and therefore results have already been declared following uncontested elections in the following town and parishes:
Acklington; Alnham; Alnmouth; Alnwick; Alwinton; Amble; Bamburgh; Beadnell; Belford; callaly; Cartington; Chatton; Chillingham; Craster; Cresswell; Denwick; Doddington; East Chevington (coastal ward); Edlingham; Eglingham; Ellingham; Elsdon; Embleton; Felton; Ford; Glanton; Harbottle; Hauxley; Hedgeley; Hepple; Holy Island; Ingram; Kielder; Kirknewton; Lesbury; Lilburn; Longhorsley; Longhoughton; Lowick; Milfield; Netherton; Newton on the Moor & Swarland; North Sunderland; Otterburn; Rennington; Rothbury; Shilbottle; Thirston; Thropton; Togston; Warkworth; Whittingham; Whitton and Tosson; Widdrington Station and Stobswood; Widdrington Village.
Elections will still be taking place for the following parish councils: Adderstone with Lucker; East Chevington (town ward); Longframlington; Newton-by-the-Sea; Wooler.
The count for the town and parish elections is to take place in Hexham on Saturday, May 6.
