Twelve UK fish and chip shops you need to try: Northumberland eatery named on list

An Alnwick fish and chip shop has been named as one of 12 in the UK that people simply have to try.

Carlo's, on Market Street, has made it on to the list, compiled by HolidayLettings - a TripAdvisor company, which features some of the UK's best fish and chips shops that are 'well-kept secrets'.

Describing Carlo's, the article on states: "A warm welcome awaits you at Carlo's, where family is all-important and their mission is 'to provide top quality food quickly and effishiently' (sorry, but I couldn't resist including the pun). They only use wild fish from sustainable sources and handcraft their fishcakes on site using four generations' of fish and chips skill. You can even book Carlo's as a party venue."
