Trust and business launch new run at estate in Rothbury

The Trust and Cotswold Outdoors have joined forces to encourage both access to the outdoors and local community links.

Alison Chalk, from Cotswold Outdoor in Morpeth, described it as a ‘well-organised event from the bag drop, route markers and marshals to the scrummy tea-room treats’.

She added: “The launch run landed on a beautiful, bright, autumn day – no better place to be than looking over the bottom lake at Cragside with the autumnal trees illuminating the water and reflecting the sun.

“The run will be on the last Sunday of every month with the exception of December (October 22 is the next).

“If you’re free to volunteer to marshal, you will be warmly received and if you come along for the run, you’ll be part of a great atmosphere created by the mix of people and abilities on the day.”
