The search for a trawler which went missing off the Northumberland coast has now been terminated, with one dead and two men still to be found.
The Scottish-registered Ocean Way, which operated out of North Shields, went missing yesterday, sparking a mass search during the afternoon and evening involving helicopters from RAF Boulmer and Norway, as well as merchant vessels.
The boat was last heard from about 100 miles east of the Farne Islands.
Three people were airlifted from the water and taken to Wansbeck General Hospital, in Ashington, but one of them subsequently died. It is understood that members of the crew were Filipino.
The search was called off late last night and the Maritime and Coastguard Agency has said that it will now not continue.
The Marine Accident Investigation Branch has been informed.
