'Travelling criminals' arrested after large quantity of booze stolen from Amble shops
A gang of 'travelling criminals' from Wearside have been arrested after hundreds of pounds of alcohol was stolen from two Amble shops.
The group from Sunderland were arrested in the town on Tuesday following reports of shoplifting in both Co-op stores. The value of the alcohol equated to more than £250 and the booze has since been recovered. The vehicle used by the team was also seized by police.
The gang have been released on police bail until Tuesday.
