The airline and Jet2CityBreaks has announced 10 chances for tourists to experience the destination and the chance to see the spectacular natural phenomenon as it adds a further three services for later in 2020 and early 2021, compared to winter 2019/2020.

Customers in the North East can choose from a choice of 10 “once-in-a-lifetime trips” between October and November 2020 or February and April 2021, the best times of the year to see the Northern Lights.

The firm says the programme of dedicated trips gives holidaymakers in the region great choice and flexibility for those wanting to experience everything the Nordic island has to offer.

The services will go between Newcastle International Airport and Keflavík International Airport near Reykjavik.

Whether it is the cityscape of Reykjavik, the spectacular Northern Lights, or the stunning Golden Circle and its geothermal lagoons, spas and waterfalls, the company says Iceland provides an incredible variety of things for customers to experience and see.

People can pick from flight-only or package holiday options, with package options with Jet2CityBreaks available for a low £60 per person deposit.

Package options with Jet2CityBreaks include a guided Northern Lights Tour, flights with including 22kg hold luggage, transfers to and from the airport, as well as a choice of three and four-star hotels in central Reykjavik which provide the perfect base from which to explore and experience authentic Icelandic cuisine.

In addition, excursions to the Golden Circle and Blue Lagoon are also available to buy.

Visitors to Iceland will get the chance to see the Northern Lights.

All flights to Keflavík International Airport near Reykjavik will be operated by on Boeing 737-800 aircraft, and the full programme from Newcastle Airport is as follows:
