Town boutique up for menswear award

An Alnwick boutique is in the running to win a major fashion award.

Hotspur 1364 has been shortlisted in the Best Menswear Boutique in the UK category in the Drapers Independents Awards 2016.

The store is run by Lisa Aynsley and the winners will be revealed at a ceremony at The Brewery, in London, in September.

Lisa, who opened the boutique in 2014, said: “It is awesome to be on the shortlist, I am really proud.

“The business has only been going a couple of years, so it is amazing to be recognised in this way and I am chuffed to bits that the shop is classed as one of the best in the UK.

“They did a surprise visit too, so they were obviously impressed with what they saw. It is a real boost and it is great for a shop in Alnwick to be recognised in this way.”

The Drapers Independents Awards 2016 will be the 26th in a series that stretches back to a modest celebration lunch in 1990.

The aim is to highlight and celebrate the best of independent fashion retailing.
